22 Oct 2005, Girls U13: Woodbank Utd 12 – 1 Oswald Rd (HT:3-0)

The girls knew that this game was going to be tough, because they played Woodbank last season. First half Rayne went in net, leaving Jody to be Striker and Molly midfield, Hanaan was doing her usual sweeper role (in-between defence and midfield) and Niamh, Roberta and Aphra (our new member of the team) in defence. We got off on a good start, the ball was up and our defence was tight, but a few minutes later a Woodbank player had got past our defence and scored. Soon after, Jody had hurt her leg and had to come off for a bit so that meant that Hanaan had to come up a bit further, but it wasn’t enough, Woodbank had possession of the ball nearly all the time and the Oswald Rd defence was getting weak. After half-time Jody swapped with Rayne in net because of Jody’s leg. The defence woke up a bit, but more goals came in (I don’t want to remember how many!). But that soon changed, Jody kicked the ball out to Rayne who then dribbled it out a bit, she then passed it to Molly who passed it back to Rayne, she dribbled and then passed it to Hanaan, who took it to the edge of the box hoping to cross it in, but she did more than that she kicked it into the bottom corner of the net! Oswald Rd had many chances but they all slipped away. Hard luck girls!!
