07 Jan 2006, Girls U13: Oswald Rd 8 – 2 Wythenshawe Town (HT:2-2)

1^st Half! We kicked off to a brilliant start; Wythenshawe did have the ball at the beginning but our defenders and Lollypop kept on booting the ball out of the box. We had a number of corners in that half, and Giant was running up and down the field like mad!! Lollypop was playing a defence-midfield kind of role in the first half; we had Noodles and Hazard (recently known as Caution) at the back, Giant and Smurf in midfield and Jammy up front, but she was also coming back, like the midfielders, to help the defenders. Wythenshawe had kicked the ball out so it was a goal kick. Lollypop took it. She booted it out, it went to no.2 on their team but Smurf tackled it off her and passed it to Jammy who then ran up, skilled her way passed all the defenders an’ snaked it into the back of the net, making it 1-0 to Ozzie girls!!! Wythenshawe kicked off, they charged towards our defenders no.2 on their team ran forward to shoot but luckily Hazard got in the way, the ball only slightly got away no.6 got the ball and passed it to no.2 who again tried to shoot, but she managed to score. 1-1. Jammy had the ball, she passed it to Smurf who ran up, but unfortunately one of their players got into the way of her. No.6 had the ball she ran up the sideline and crossed it in, but our brilliant goalie saved it with her hands!! Well-done Maniac!! She kicked it out to Noodles who passed it to Smurf but unluckily one off their defenders pushed her an got the ball, the defender passed the ball to no.2 she dribbled up a bit an shot, an it went into the back of the net, 2-1 to Wythenshawe. The girls didn’t want to lose this game, so their determination to win this game…increased!! Our play became less scruffy (according to the coaches!) and our heads were held up high!! We had a corner so Lollypop went up to see if she could get the ball, Jammy kicked it in but the goalie punched it out, luckily Lollypop got it and passed it to Jammy who…SCORED!!!! 2-2!! Half time.

2^nd Half! They had kick off, but we got in there straight away. Lollypop went straight into the ball and ran up with it a bit, then she passed it to Jammy who ran up with the ball, she bamboozled the defenders with her nifty tricks and managed to get passed them, her mind was on goal. When she got close enough to the net she booted the ball as hard as she could, and it got stuck in between the post and net!!! 3-2 to Oswald Rd!!! Their centre kick, Wythenshawe weren’t very happy that they were losing so they came back hard, but Noodles, Hazard and Lollypop defended like a rock. They never let anything past them; even if they did they still managed to get back. Maniac had the ball she kicked it out to Jammy who ran up and passed it to Smurf. She ran up the sideline and crossed it in to Jammy, who took the ball and scored!!!!! 4-2 to Oswald Rd!!!! Now Wythenshawe were really getting fed up! Maniac had the ball she kicked it out but no.2 on their team got the ball, she ran up to the corner flag and tried to cross it in but Hazard got in the way, it was a corner. No.6 did a short corner to no.2, she crossed it in but it went to Jammy at the back, she booted the ball down to Smurf who ran up the centre. She dribbled passed two Wythenshawe defenders and kicked the ball into the back of the net!!! 5-2 to Oswald Rd!!! Wythenshawe’s goalie had the ball, she kicked it out but unfortunately for them Hazard got the ball. She ran up the left sideline and passed it across to Lollypop, who ran up to the goal she shot 10 yards out from the net and…SHE SCORED!!! 6-2 to Oswald Rd!!! The Ozzie girls were very very happy!!! Maniac had the ball, she kicked it out, Smurf got the ball she ran up to the half way line, but unfortunately no.8 got the ball off her. She ran up but Hazard managed to get the ball off her, Hazard ran up she saw Giant and passed it to her. Giant ran up the field into the box and she realised that 2 players were coming towards her so she passed it to Jammy, (who was near the corner flag). She ran in a bit and crossed it in, Giant managed to kick in into the net!!! 7-2 to Oswald Rd!!! Wythenshawe’s goalie had the ball she kicked it out to no.2 she ran up to the side of the net an shot, fortunately for us it went over, so then Maniac had the ball the booted it up the side to Jammy, she ran up the side, one of their players behind her, but Jammy was too fast for her, Jammy tried to shoot from the corner flag it nearly went in but the goalie reached for it but, luckily Smurf was there to tap it in!!! Final score was 8-2 to Ozzie girls!! WELL DONE GIRLS!!
